2026/27 Term 1 - Trees - from June 1st
For our fourth Academy year we are having a go at 'world building', starting with trees before adding flowers and finally some buildings in our new The Thread House World!
For the Trees Term Lynne will use simple raw edge appliqué to create her iconic lollipop trees. Jo brings you her organic Moon Trees which focus on freehand cutting and hand stitching. And Karen explores intricate FPP with her gorgeous Gingko design.
For our fourth month we will present a new series of Masterclasses. Following on from our first series in Year One, we are now tackling all the quilting acronyms, starting with HST!
2026/27 Term 2 - Flowers - from Octonber 1st
In the Flowers Term, we plan to extend the summer by bringing colourful blooms into the winter.
Create this stunning Charles Rennie Mackintosh inspired wall hanging with Lynne as she shows you how to use bias tape appliqué to create a stained glass effect. Inspired by a Japanese lotus bag Jo has designed a flower themed sewing station which is a delight to make and use. And Karen has used the traditional log cabin pattern to produce a beautiful and clever flower design that is bound to become everyone's new favourite quilt.
For our fourth month we will move on to FPP as we explore traditional, freehand and freezer paper methods.
2026/27 Term 3 - Buildings - from February 1st
It is time to introduce humanity to our natural world by adding some buildings! We have each been inspired by traditional house quilts in different ways for Term Three.
Lynne absolutely loves a traditional schoolhouse quilt but in this class she gives it a modern twist giving each house its own sampler block. Jo is back in her happy place with some improv piecing as we create delightful cabins and add adorable fussy cutting details. Karen's inspiration comes from Barn Quilts as she finally shares her screen printing expertise with the Academy students in this mixed sewing and printing class.
For our fourth month we will tackle EPP with some really clever twists including improv and curved versions.
