Beginning with the simplest turned edge appliqué Jo will take you through the basics, the different stitches you can use, the right needles and thread and the many ways to prepare pattern pieces ahead of stitching.

We will be looking in depth at achieving perfect curves, perfect points and how to 'swoop' with style!

Speedy No Trim HSTs

Lynne will be showing you how to use her magic paper templates to make HSTs in sets of four or eight to massively speed up your piecing time.  Unlike the traditional methods, this method requires no fiddly trimming at the end of the process - the HSTs come out at the exactly the right size every time! 

Reverse Appliqué

Karen will be looking at the technique of reverse appliqué where the background fabric is layered on top and a hole cut away, rather than placed underneath as for traditional appliqué.

Karen will give you a step by step guide into this method and talk about her favourite notions to use to get great results. She may just show you how you can easily machine sew with this method for those that refuse to come over to her and Jo's slow side!
