2025/26 Term 1 - "Tiny" - from May 1st

We are going for small and interesting in our first term in this third Academy Year. All three tutors enjoy working at this reduced scale, fitting intricate patterns and ideas into manageable projects.

Lynne has designed a truly awe inspiring mini medallion quilt with a wonderful variety of different techniques to choose from. Jo's Tiny Improv Streetscapes are one of her most recognisable designs and in this new class she helps you build a whole tiny town complete with tiny trees. And Karen takes the cuteness prize this term with this tiny bag to keep your tiny tools tidy! Plus you will learn some clever tiny piecing techniques along the way.

For our fourth month we will present the first of our brand new BOM patterns for the Summer Sorbet quilt. Plus Lynne takes us on a live Zoom tour of her sewing room and answers all your burning questions! Zoom session will also be recorded.

2025/26 Term 2 - Shapes - from September 1st

This term will be devoted to all sorts of shapes. Geometric patterns are the basis for so much patchwork and quilting and in this term each of us offers a new way to use shapes in our quilts.

Create your own fussy cutting fabric with Lynne's genius and original way to combine FPP and EPP. Jo will share a range of improv piecing techniques to create triangles, squares and rectangles for a striking geometric quilt. Finally Karen offers us all the shapes in her stunning modern off-grid design.

For our fourth month we will share the next batch of patterns for our Summer Sorbet BOM quilt and Jo will be offering a peep inside her Tiny House sewing studio AND her sewing spaces inside her newly built house in the next of our live Zoom tours! Zoom session will also be recorded.

2025/26 Term 3 - Folk Art - from January 1st

Last year Jo chose 'Folk Art' as her subject for the Text Term and we all loved this style so much we decided to expand it for a whole term this year. The Folk Art vibe has been a big influence on our shared aesthetic since we starting designing BOM quilts together in 2020. This term we're exploring this look further with three fun projects.

Lynne has found yet another novel way to to use the classic Dresden Plate block with this whimsical design. We just know you are going to love making Jo's quirky folk art dolls and creating your own unique versions. And Karen's sublime Folk Garden quilt is going to be your new favourite passion as she shares the magic of Mola inspired reverse appliqué.

For our fourth month we will present the final BOM blocks and give you suggestions for piecing together your Summer Sorbet Quilt. And we get chance to see inside both Karen's printing studio and her sewing room in our final live Zoom studio tour! Zoom session will also be recorded.
