We are Jo, Karen and Lynne, three British designers, teachers and authors with many years' experience in quilting and sewing. Over the last few years we have also amassed a huge amount of experience in online teaching and video tutorials. Through our online Academy we can now take this shared wisdom to the next level by offering a whole year of online tuition.

For our fourth Academy year we are having a go at 'world building', starting with trees before adding flowers and finally some buildings in our new The Thread House World!
Join us to discover a whole host of different techniques including appliqué, foundation piecing, improv and screen printing to name just a few.
To top things off we will present a new series of Masterclasses. This year we are tackling all the quilting acronyms HST, FPP and EPP!

Lifetime Access for all classes!
Our workshops are all pre-recorded videos that come with Lifetime access. This means you can take the class at your own convenience and watch the videos as many times as you like.
Lifetime means the lifetime of the Academy (which obviously we hope continues for years and years to come!) so you can purchase an online class without worrying about running out of time to complete your project!
So much more than an online class
Our current Academy year started on 1 June 2026 and is structured into three terms centred around the themes of Tress, Flowers and Buildings.
The Annual and Term Passes include a community space where we can share our work and offer enthusiasm and feedback to our fellow crafters, all safely away from social media. You can also use this platform to communicate with your tutors.
Inspiration, Education and Friendship
We aim to encourage creativity and play in all our students. Our hobbies should be fun!
You will find each of us resourceful and generous teachers with years of experience to draw on. If we know how to do something then we’ll be sharing this with our Academy students! Through our pre-recorded videos and live surgeries we want our students to feel as if they are shadowing us in our sewing rooms and sharing all our trade secrets.
