Come and learn how master foundation paper piecing three different ways!

In the first year of our Academy we produced three Masterclasses for our 'extra' month on Appliqué, Quilting and Binding. These proved so popular (and are still available to buy form our store!) that we thought we would include three more essential skillsets to add to your quilting armoury.

We have each selected our favourite approaches for these new subjects and this term we tackle FPP, one of the most versatile and exciting patchwork techniques. Each tutor will share their wisdom, along with their favourite tips and tricks.

Freezer Paper FPP

with Lynne Goldsworthy

Lynne will be showing you how to foundation paper piece using freezer paper.  Unlike the traditional method of FPP where you sew through the papers and have to painstakingly tear them away afterwards, in this method you do not sew through the paper and can peel it away in one fell swoop at the end and even re-use your template!

Freehand Foundation Piecing

with Jo Avery

Jo will be exploring her signature technique in this improv based class. We will learn how to draw up our own templates on a foundation fabric rather than paper. Jo will explain the many advantages of this method and discuss the best foundations to use as we create a stunning new block.
