Mini chicken pouch with Jo Avery

Create this cute wee chicken pouch in this mainly hand stitched workshop. Jo has taken the traditional triangle pouch and transformed it into one of her Dream Birds by adding wings, eyes and a beak! Embellishment with running stitch and colonial knots adds lovely texture to this mini pouch which can be used for coins, knitting markers, binding clips or just for tiny treasures. Though Jo used a sewing machine for part of this project the whole thing can be hand stitched if you prefer.

Origami Cranes Mini Quilt with Lynne Goldsworthy

In this class Lynne will be taking you step by step through the process of foundation paper piecing these 6" finished origami crane blocks with lots of tips and tricks along the way. We will then put the two halves of the block together to make the crane and piece three cranes together to make them fly across the mini quilt.  After that we will use the strip piecing method to create the sashiko stitch border in three colours that frames the cranes in flight.
