Needle Turn Appliqué with

Jo Avery

Beginning with the simplest turned edge appliqué Jo will take you through the basics, the different stitches you can use, the right needles and thread and the many ways to prepare pattern pieces ahead of stitching.

We will be looking in depth at achieving perfect curves, perfect points and how to 'swoop' with style!

Raw Edge Appliqué with

Lynne Goldsworthy

Lynne will be showing you how to add that personal touch to your quilts by adding words or names or maybe a wedding date or a birth date.  In the process she will take you step by step through the process of raw edge appliqué with lots of tips and tricks along the way.  She'll also be sharing some of her graphic design raw edge appliqué quilts and talking you through how she made those and maybe inspire you to think of making one of your own! 

Reverse Appliqué with

Karen Lewis

Karen will be looking at the technique of reverse appliqué where the background fabric is layered on top and a hole cut away, rather than placed underneath as for traditional appliqué.

Karen will give you a step by step guide into this method and talk about her favourite notions to use to get great results. She may just show you how you can easily machine sew with this method for those that refuse to come over to her and Jo's slow side!
