How does your garden grow?

Karen's Mola inspired quilt is just a delight to the senses and with the fresh colour palette you are going to be itching to get stitching along!

Karen will be showing you the unique techniques she has devised to make this stitching art piece.

Every stitch in Folk Garden, from the reverse appliqué to the quilting and finally closing off the quilt has been done by hand, making it a project you can  take and do anywhere, enjoying the mindfulness as you go.

You will be able to follow Karen's instructions to make the full size version or take inspiration from Folk Garden to use some of the elements or design your own.

Access for the lifetime of the Academy.  

Week 1

In Week 1 we will be starting by cutting our fabrics, marking up the whole cloth and stitching them into place, looking at thread choices and stitches.

Week 2

In Week 2 we will reverse appliqué the shapes and get ready for mola inspired layering in Week 3.

Week 3

Week 3 is all about the mola and we will look at how to layer from behind and reveal added detail into our shapes.

Week 4

 To finish off our Folk Garden quilt we will look at how best to enhance it with our quilting and complete without binding by using the sleeping bag method.
