Tiny Improv Town
We will be exploring both tiny piecing and improv piecing in this playful and creative workshop.
Using quick piecing techniques we will create rows of tiny buildings with pieces as small as 1/8th of an inch! This is absorbing and intriguing work and will improve your knowledge of general patchwork construction principles.
With the addition of some tiny trees, made using improv curve techniques, your tiny houses can become a street or a whole town. The results can be used to make pouches, bags, fabric pots or cushions. Or keep going to make a range of small to medium quilts.

Week 1
We’ll talk about planning fabrics for our town before piecing our first tiny townhouses.
Week 2
We'll learn how to create our mansions and factories and how to add roofs and chimneys.

Week 3
We'll create our first trees and start to put together our streetscapes using backgrounds and foregrounds.
Week 4
We will explore the many different projects you can make using your tiny houses and trees plus quilting ideas and a look at the construction behind Jo's Tiny Improv World quilt.
