Time to dig through your scraps!
This is a great project for making a dent in your stash and learning how to use scraps to make beautiful projects. In this class Lynne will be taking you step by step through the process of making an outsized Scrappy Checkerboard Dresden. You have the option of just making one and having a wall hanging or making four and turning them into a beautiful quilt.

Week 1
We will be chatting about how to choose your scraps for a scrappy project, pick out the fabrics we want to use. We will then cut our strips for the scrappy Dresden leaves and sew those into strip sets.
Week 2
We will be cutting our strips sets into Dresden wedges, sew them into pairs, add the section on top for the triangle at the top of each point and sew them into one (or four!) circles.

Week 3
We will now appliqué the Dresden plate(s) to the background pieces and add the appliqué circle or circles using the foil and cardboard method or the raw edge applique method.
Week 4
Time to quilt the whole block or blocks – since these are only 35” square, you can have fun experimenting with your quilting and maybe trying something you haven’t tried before. And we will then work through the process of joining the four blocks using the Quilt As You Go (QAYG) process. Even if you don’t use the process on this quilt, you may find it useful for future projects.
The workshop is made up of four pre-recorded videos. Access to the videos will remain open for the lifetime of the Academy.
